Dear @Forbes, do you realize what @HilaryKramer is using your brand for?!

Still not fired, for some reason...

Still not fired, for some reason…

Setty in full rant mode is a force of nature. A thing of beauty. A real joy.

Do not miss his epic takedown of the appalling Derwick fluff piece Hilary Kramer perpetrated on Forbes’s website yesterday. The offending piece is now taken down from the Forbes site but, of course, nothing is ever really deleted from the internet, and this one’s still live on the Chicago Tribune’s website.

A taste,

The issue here isn’t that she offended anyone. It’s that she supported a group of people who have made it their business to attack her fellow members of the press. That she ignored legitimate, well documented criticism. That she didn’t seek the slightest bit of outside comment. In short, she disappeared the facts that those of us in investigative reporting have dug up at our own expense, on our own time, in order to help the country she claims to love, this raped place called Venezuela. Instead of helping us expose the facts about what is happening there, she participated in a fraud, she participated in the cleansing of the reputations of a few of the thousands of people who have diverted billions of dollars from the people of Venezuela into the pockets of a very few rich bullies. If she really loves Venezuela, as I do, maybe she will make it right. Not by retracting this half-assed, poorly researched article, but by devoting much more effort to finding the truth about that place and helping the country recover.

But this snippet hardly does it justice. Just go over there and read it.

Then do your civic duty: take 30 seconds to go on Twitter and tell @Forbes what you think of @HilaryKramer.

  2. Apparently she had something similar with Azerbaijan.
Perhaps we could send tweets to Forbes with cc to Forbes’ competition (names?). That tends to be more effective.
    Kudos to Setty and Alek.

  3. And she apologizes, not for getting it wrong, but for “offending” people!

    Ms. Kramer,

When you have done wrong (and from both and ethical and professional perspective, you have) you must acknowledge your error AND make restitution. In this case, the best restitution is to do your original job, do the research, and expose these scumbags for what they are. Your readers, and your employer deserve nothing less.

  4. May I suggest?
Also send the message to @FortuneMagazine and @BloombergNews, @forbes ‘ competition.
Then Forbes will feel more compelled to do something real about this.

  5. I am very sorry to see that blog posted to smear’s Setty’s name (same way they have been doing with Alek and I am sure they have tried with Coronel and others), however it only shows that he is ruffling some feathers, Soprano style but in much bigger scale.

And you, Hillary Kramer, shame on you. Seems to me she is getting too accustomed to trips and expensive gifts from foreigner “business” people, surely she thinks they are handsome too. I honestly don’t want to know what’s going on in there. But one thing I can tell you for sure, won’t feel sorry for her when her friendship with the gangsters go sour and she will be subpoaned on a rico case.

Very disgusting what’s happening. Kuddos to all of you behind exposing the mega billionaire corruption that is happening in the country, Coronel, Setty, Alek Boyd, Quico, Miguel, Daniel and everybody else.
