Notitarde’s Janet Yucra is reporting that the PSUV has pulled the plug on the proposed loan for the Venezuelan Profesional Baseball League (LVBP), which I wrote about this week
Apparently, the opinion of MP Pedro Carreño prevailed amongst his PSUV colleagues (“it’s not good for us to help out private businesses”) and the loan won’t be brought up for discussion in the National Assembly.
Yucra also reports that the original idea for the loan came from the Sports Minister, former pro baseball player Antonio “El Potro” Álvarez and that the money would come from the Sports Ministry’s budget.
To see the full AN report on the now abandoned proposal, go here.
Hugo and Fidel are past their playing days. Beisbol just does not matter without them.

Wouldn’t the same argument apply to Pastor “Chocante” Maldonado?

Is it because they don’t care?
Or is it because they’re broke?
