Alonso used the government-infiltrated “Paracachitos” scheme to embezzle a lot of money from the operation’s financiers. Paracachitos was real and was infiltrated early on by the regime. A few General’s made the mistake of getting snarled. Nobody believed the regime! You should not waste your time with this person.

  8. Many Venezuelan oppositionists – maybe because they have been living in Miami and Europe for so long – actually believe that the Venezuelan politics can be compared to what they have in the normal countries they live in (US, EU countries and even other free countries in Latin America).

    It hurts me to say, but they are very very wrong. No, grandpa above is not some sort of Venezulan crazy Tea Party fanatic, he resembles more a desperate Jew living in Munich in 1935. No, the Chavistas are not the Democrats, they are more like Hitler’s SA. Grandpa above mentions the Ley de Comunas (it was approved yesterday) two times in this “funny” video, if you read about this law you will see the same kind of law that abolished private property in Cuba and Zimbabwe.

    Me alegra sentirme aludido como “este pendejo no tiene carro”.

    PD: que alguien le explique al pana con un diagramita como puede pasar una moto (vehículo de preferencia de los colectivos paramilitares) a través de la típica calle de urbanización de dos carriles, si en esta se encuentran atravesados dos carros. De ser necesario, mostrarle algún video de un motorizado manejando por la acera.

          Either you are in complete denial (it’s normal in situations like that) or you are just ignorant about what is happening in Venezuela from your exile/high horse in a Scandinavian country. The colectivos and GNB modus operandi is exactly the same of the SA. They just don’t kill as many people as the SA did by now, but they sure will.             Tengo acceso a vídeos como los que muestras (hint, hint: we have Youtube here as well, 40 times faster in fact), a informes peores (hint, hint: I can read and listen by Skype from all kinds of people in Venezuela).

            Tengo varios amigos que viven cerquita de donde fue tomado eso. Y otros que viven en zonas
            donde las agresiones de la GN han sido peores (ni idea tendrás de lo que pasó en Tocuyito o en zonas pobres de Valencia o de Barquisimeto).

            Tú realmente no has visto nada ni sabes nada de lo que ocurrió en tiempos del nazismo

            Y no me refiero al par (literalmente) de que del Oeste se cuela para ir a “ayudar a la resistencia” en Altamira.
            Creo que todo el mundo aquí tiene de una u otra manera más contacto con esa gente o gente parecida, que conforman la gigantesca mayoría de la población, que tú.

            Y te lo he dicho mil veces: hay un montón de maneras de estar activo sin estar incendiando ramas de árboles o quemando kioskos o lanzando molotovs a tanquetas cada día.

            Y ese montón de maneras tendrá más repercusiones que estas acciones que tú estás apoyando.

  29. I read the book “Confessions of an economic hitman” by John Perkins. It is based on his personal experience as an “Economic Hitman” working for a US Consulting firm. His job was to convince Foreign Countries about the viability of certain projects like a power plant or re-building a bridge or a natural disaster stricken area. The data used to support it was all fictitious promising an extraordinary ROI. Then through bribes he made sure the project got approved, financed and awarded only to US contractors at 10x the lowest bid.
    I am convinced that Nicolas Maduro is an Economic Hitman working for the US government. He is successfully destroying Venezuela and accusing the US of being behind a plot to oust him. He is using blame reversal tactics all the time but is also distracting everybody from seeing his ulterior motives: those of an economic hitman. He will destroy Venezuela and maybe provoke economic sanctions but he will not fight back, he will just surrender and will “stay active but under the political radar” because he will be compensated and years later because Venezuelans have short memory (remember CAP) he will be back in power supported by the US or Europe again.
    Those of you who think Cuba is behind everything just need to sit over a café cortado with a Cuban friend and realize that they are not Smarter than any average Latin American citizen.
    Just a theory, I have no proof whatsoever.
