The board of the Enrique Tejera Hospital in Valencia will now formally allow relatives of patients to bring hammocks, so they can sleep inside its premises at night.
Even if the hospital’s infrastructure is in deplorable conditions, some of its visitors prefer to stay the night there anyway. But their personal security isn’t guaranteed.
As for medical supplies, they are pretty scarce (forcing relatives to constantly run around town to find them), but not to worry: street vendors installed outside the hospital have quite enough of them to sell to doctors and patients.
Such is the sad state of public health in Venezuela.
Bring your own hammock, toothbrush and medical equipment.

Pernoctate, whatever that means, probably better describes my sleeping experiences in a Venezuelan hospital.
